About Joanna Marie

I am a fine artist who dabbles in every medium and style I get the urge to try. I was born and raised in Arizona, which, though dry and hot, holds many beauties and inspirations for me. The wide sky is particularly enchanting, especially when filled with monsoon clouds stretching from horizon to horizon.

My dream to become an artist first hit me around the age of 3, when a cousin of mine who is a few years older than me drew a very good picture of a teddy bear and a doll beneath a Christmas tree and I wondered to myself... "What if I started to draw? Could I do as well? Could I become an artist?"

And so I began to draw. Being homeschooled, I had the majority of every day to work on my skills. I took 4 art classes at a local college between the ages of 15 and 17, and that was when my art took a major jump into becoming professional rather than just being a hobbyist.

Now, I make my home in Phoenix, AZ and am stepping into the art world here.
